The optional onsite full fasting screenings include basic body measurements and a blood draw that tests for 21 different blood elements associated with possible diseases. The screening provides participants with basic body measurements including height, weight, blood pressure and an overall Health Status score called a WellCentive Score.
Offsite employees and spouses are offered wellness kits to be completed in their local area.

Health Risk Assessment

The optional Health Risk Assessment (HRA) is a confidential online questionnaire about health and lifestyle habits (i.e., blood pressure, weight, tobacco use, physical activity, etc.).
After completing the questionnaire each participant receives a confidential profile that identifies major health risks while highlighting healthy habits and changes the participant can make to resolve health risks.

Health Coach Review

Participants will receive a personal and confidential follow-up by a professional health coach, who is at minimum a Registered Nurse, to help participants understand their health information. This review can be completed in-person or over the phone. The coach can work with participants to lower risks, explain treatments, and provide guidance and interpretation on complicated medical issues.

Why Choose Us?

By utilizing the optional Health Risk Assessment and Biometrics our predictive model not only forecasts at risk populations by condition, but also ties the projected cost exposure of each condition. This level of sophistication allows our clients to easily identify the most productive strategies to control the uncontrollable health plan costs. We provide tools and resources dedicated to helping individuals protect their health. Prodigy's model is validated by GE Healthcare Evaluation Institute.

Individual Risk Profile and Health Score Reports

After completing the optional Biometric Screening and HRA, participants will have a custom configured online personal health management system (Personal Health Desktop) based on their health assessment results. This online tool allows participants to learn about their health risks and how to modify them through Risk Resolutions Guidelines. They will have access to lifestyle improvement programs and interactive multi-step e-learning seminars for diet and nutrition, stress, smoking cessation and fitness. Over time, participants are able to track changes in their assessment results so they can maintain and improve their personal health.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if there are legislative changes or future determinations by ruling changes?

Although there are constant changes in legislation, we do not foresee changes to this program in the near future. Prodigy's ERISA attorney and other attorneys are constantly monitoring this and will notify everyone promptly if changes occur.

Do I have participation requirements under the program?

Yes. After enrolling in the program, you must access your Personal Desktop, view the compliance video and either schedule or complete a Health Risk Assessment (HRA). Thereafter, you must meet monthly and/or quarterly objectives.

What happens if I fail to meet the participation requirements?

If you fail to meet the required participation criteria, you could be dropped off the program with the potential of losing all benefits received as a result of your participation. Prodigy Benefit Management will make several attempts to reach you but if we are unsuccessful, you will be dropped off the program and either lose your benefits or pay for them directly out of your check post-tax.

Does this program affect my Social Security?

The effect would probably be minimal if you are approaching retirement age as Social Security is calculated on a 35 year average.  One of the benefits we make available to employees is a Guaranteed Issue cash value life policy that usually accrues cash value at a higher rate than Social Security. (If you have specific questions on this effect, please consult your CPA)

Can a gym membership be purchased with the Wellness Reserve?

No. A gym membership is a taxable benefit under the rules of this program.

What happens if I miss a days pay? Will I have to pay for the benefits out of my take home pay?

Prodigy Benefit Management calculates your Wellness Reserve at 95% of your annual income. Therefore, if you should miss a couple of days during the year, there should be enough in reserve to pay the premium amounts without affecting your take home pay.

Can benefits be obtained on my spouse and dependents?

Yes. All benefits can be modified to cover your spouse and/or dependents.

Who decides where the tax savings must be spent?

Prodigy Benefit Management and your employer decide what the “Wellness Reserve” must be spent on.

Can I cancel this program at any time?

No. Because you are pre-taxing the wellness program under a Section “125” Cafeteria program, the IRS has certain rules that must be followed such as; you cannot make any changes to the program until “Open Enrollment” each year unless there is a qualifying event. An IRS approved qualifying event allows you to make changes during the plan year that are consistent with the event. Your Prodigy Wellness advisor will explain this upon enrollment.

What effect will this have on my take home pay?

You will see additional line item deductions on your paycheck. To truly see the effect on your take-home pay, compare two identical paychecks (i.e. hours worked, same pay rate, etc.) and you will see either a very slight increase in pay or no difference in take home pay.

Are my year-end taxes affected?

You should always come out ahead as your taxable income is lowered by the wellness contribution. Therefore, you are paying the correct taxes based upon your gross taxable income after the wellness contribution. (For specific questions, please contact your tax advisor or CPA)

Is this a legal program?

Yes. This is a tax qualified wellness plan that uses tax advantage provisions under the Internal Revenue Service codes “Section 125 and 105” and ACA wellness rules.
